I am Dr. Galya Loewenstein
I am a licensed acupuncturist with both California and National Board certification, Masters and Doctorate in Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine, as well as a BA in Psychology, AA in Performing Arts, and Reiki Master-Teacher certification. At Binghamton University I worked hands-on in the scientific community, including a trauma recovery & behavioral analysis lab. I also worked with the eye-tracking research committee. I am incredibly intrigued by the bio-mechanisms which the human body employs to find and maintain homeostasis; as well as the mental-emotional patterns which influence one’s behavior, and overall health. In an effort to achieve a greater range of experience, I have spent time working in several health centers and community wellness organizations. For instance, I served as an intern in Rady Children’s Hospital, UCSD Cancer Research Center, and Housing Works in NYC. These organizations have granted me opportunities to learn from a wide range of patient populations including ICU, HEM/ONC, Post-op, orthopedic, musculoskeletal, fertility, pediatrics and geriatrics.
Now, with the credential list out of the way, let’s drop in!
I am an earth-loving, passionate, soulful, and eccentric individual, who is thoroughly intrigued by the mechanics of the human body, and a firm believer in incorporating the mind, body, and spirit in all elements of healing. My mission is to provide a safe space for all members of the human race to feel unconditional, loving support and kindness within their healing journey. While I have done my work to receive the necessary prerequisites to facilitate professional medical care, I am a firm believer that true healing begins WITHIN.
In other words, the nature of the body is to achieve internal balance, and the only one capable of ensuring this reality, is the patient. The patient holds the power to determine the efficacy of any treatment, and it is within their innate being that true healing can be found. Moreover, in addition to individual self-awareness, it is equally vital to remember one’s place in the greater, natural world. There are many external factors which can affect one’s health, including direct environment, cycle of seasons, emotional stimulators, and food intake, to name a few. In Chinese Medicine, it is important to note all elements of one’s life which contribute causal factors to their overall well-being. In addition, Chinese Medicine is based on the notion of preventative medicine, which implies that if working effectively, a doctor should ensure their patient never gets sick. Being that we live in a Western culture, where medicine is mostly symptom-driven, most individuals don’t visit their physician until after a disease has progressed. For this reason, it is important to note that a level of re-education is a necessary component of my treatment plan, to ensure that optimal health results are being consistently met.
As a patient under my care, expect to be encouraged to dive deeply into your own story, find the places in need of more attention and care, and be an active participate in writing your future. I invite you to surrender all fear and doubt, in order make ample space for authentic vulnerability and truth to be fully expressed. The road to success is never easy, it takes commitment, perseverance, and hard work, which I will expect. However, I will prove how your unwavering effort will yield optimal results, and how when done effectively, your output will FAR surpass your input. I am a team-player, who believes in YOU, and your innately divine ability to heal. If given the opportunity to be a part of your healing team, I will do everything in my power to ensure you reach your ultimate potential, beginning from the inside, and expressing itself outwardly, in all areas of your life.
The choice is yours.
The first step begins with you: Make the choice to invest in yourself.
Then, let’s walk this healing journey, together.
